New PC and Console Unreal Engine 5 MMORPG Announced, Into the Echo

The Toronto-based game studio, ETLOK Studios, has announced that they are developing a brand new MMORPG under the Unreal Engine 5 engine titled ‘Into the Echo‘. According to the official website and discord, Into the Echo is a time travel based MMORPG, with PvE, PvP, Crafting, and a strong promise against Pay to Win, Pay to Progress and Pay for Convenience monetization systems. The game’s development started in early 2020, according to the studio, and are working hard to create a unique “odyssey”.

Not much more is known about the game, but a teaser trailer – with pre-alpha animations – was released on IGN

It is incredibly surprising to see a brand new MMORPG in development with the Unreal Engine 5 engine being used. We’re seeing more and more Unreal Engine 4 MMORPGs these days such as Ashes of Creation, Bless Unleashed, and the rework of Blade and Soul, but now with the early release of Unreal Engine 5, it is incredible to see a studio start using this ahead of official release. Regardless, if all goes well it is planned for Into the Echo to head to PC and Consoles, with no set release date – but given the fact that MMORPGs take roughly 6-7 years to be created, I think it’s fair to say we’ll be seeing this unique take on the MMO genre in about 2028.

Players that are interested can sign up on the Official Website for Into the Echo for a chance at a pre-alpha testing key right now.
