Palworld is an upcoming game from the team that brought us Craftopia, and it features an interesting world where (not) Pokemon creatures have Guns and be used as slaves. Players can collect these creatures from the open world, with up to (currently) 16 players in a server. Some of the activities in the game that players can partake in are Dungeons, Fishing, Crafting, Building and creating a criminal empire of poaching while hunting for Pals in sacred areas and selling them to in-game stores.
One big question is whether or not the game is an MMORPG, which has been commonly called as such by content creators and gaming websites. “This is a common misconception,” says some of the team members at Pocket Pair, Inc. While this is an Unreal Engine 4 title, and it does offer a few RPG features, it should not be referred to as an MMORPG.
Regardless, the game is indeed coming to PC in 2023 – at least this is what is currently planned – and will offer players a chance to experience, quite frankly a fever dream and, a unique adventure. Of course, if you don’t want to use guns and rocket launchers to take down all your enemies, players can use the Pals themselves as weapons. Though, by doing this, the developer says that the Pal will quickly die – or faint, since there is no permanent death system implanted, yet.
This is a game to keep an eye out on, if anything just for the memes that it’s bound to create. So, if Pokemon with Guns is your ideal dream, then 2023 is your lucky year. Palworld is slated to release within 2023, but no other information has been shared as of now.
